Traffic Advisory - Fruitland Avenue Intermittent Lane Closures

Home News

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (July 9, 2025) - Fruitland Avenue, between Clayton Street and Gulfstream Boulevard, will have intermittent lane closures Tuesday, July 15, while crews work to remove speed humps and update the roadway striping.

The speed humps, which have been in place since March of 2020, have been monitored for their impact on local traffic and it has been determined they have not been effective in reducing traffic-related issues.

Travelers are directed to a detour with signage and should allow extra time when planning to travel through this area.

The Public Works Department reminds motorists to remain alert at all times and to exercise caution when traveling in the vicinity of construction zones.
