Glendale Police Arrest Five in Mail Theft, Fraud and Identity Theft Investigation

GLENDALE, CA - August 13, 2026 - Detectives from the Glendale Police Department's Financial Crimes Unit have arrested five suspects following an investigation into a fraudulent scheme involving mail theft, identity theft, and fraud at a multi-unit apartment complex on the 500 block of W. Colorado Street.

The investigation began after detectives received reports of unknown individuals accessing and removing mail from various apartment mailboxes. The suspects were witnessed removing mail from mailboxes belonging to other residents. The reports prompted an investigation by Glendale Police detectives.

Throughout the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify multiple suspects and connect them to specific apartment units within the complex. Detectives learned that the suspects were using other individuals' personal identifying information to fraudulently obtain credit cards, which were then mailed to apartment units within the complex. The investigation further revealed that the suspects had tampered with mailbox keyholes and replaced them with "dummy" keyholes, allowing them to gain unauthorized access to the mailboxes.

On August 13, 2026, detectives served numerous search warrants at the apartment complex as part of the ongoing investigation. Five suspects were ultimately arrested and booked at the Glendale Police Jail for various fraud, identity theft, and burglary-related charges. All five suspects are residents of Glendale and were identified as Razmik Barseghyan, 36; Robert Poghosyan, 27; Vahan Kalashyan, 35; Armen Harutyunyan, 26; and Artyom Militonyan, 27.

During the execution of the search warrants, detectives located a significant quantity of personal identifying information belonging to other individuals, credit card re-encoding devices, cash, gold, and numerous credit cards. The evidence recovered is being examined as detectives work to determine the full scope of the fraudulent activity.

Detectives will continue working to identify additional victims whose personal information may have been used for fraudulent credit cards or other fraudulent activity. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration.
