SCO delegation takes part in the event of the China-SCO Higher Education Cooperation Center
On March 2, 2026, an event under the auspices of the China-SCO Higher Education Cooperation Center took place in Beijing. The event was organized by the Department of Education of Shaanxi Province together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. The purpose of the meeting was to deepen practical cooperation in the educational sphere, as well as to foster a dialogue of trust among the SCO member states.
The meeting was attended by Xu Qinsen, Vice Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China, Wu Wengang, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Shaanxi Province, Mao Wenchong, Deputy Director of the Department of European and Central Asian Affairs of the Chinese MFA, Zhang Liqun, President of Xi'an Jiaotong University, representatives of diplomatic missions from SCO member states and other officials as well as representatives of academic and expert communities.
In his welcoming remrks Sohail Khan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, noted that Xi'an Jiaotong University being one of China's leading educational centers boasts a rich history and a solid scientific foundation. The University makes a significant contribution to the development of inter-university interaction and the strengthening of academic ties between the SCO countries, helping to create a space of trust, partnership, and professional exchanges.
