Alexandria Police Investigate Felonious Assault with a Knife on Braddock Place

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - The Alexandria Police Department (APD) is investigating a felonious assault with a knife that occurred late Tuesday night near the Braddock Road Metro Station.

On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at approximately 8:05 p.m., Alexandria Police officers responded to the 1200 block of Braddock Place, for a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a knife wound and quickly apprehended the adult male suspect. The victim was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

The suspect, Maurice Moore, 55 with no fixed address, was taken into custody and charged with malicious wounding.

The incident appears to be isolated, and there is no known ongoing threat to the community. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and processing the scene for evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
