Dept. of Business Administration hosts annual Induction Ceremony at Waynesburg U.

The Waynesburg University Department of Business Administration held its Sigma Beta Delta Induction and Department Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, March 31, in the eHIVE, to celebrate students who have achieved exceptional academic records in collegiate business programs.

The Waynesburg University Sigma Beta Delta chapter was founded in 2013 to acknowledge students for their commitment to academic excellence.

To qualify for Sigma Beta Delta, students must be a junior, senior, or graduate student, ranked in the top 20 percent of their class and be invited by a faculty officer.

"We are incredibly proud of this group of students. As nominations were made, it came as no surprise-each student has consistently demonstrated the hard work and commitment necessary to receive this honor," said Pamela Cunningham, Sigma Beta Delta chapter president and instructor of marketing at Waynesburg University.

Newly inducted members are offered valuable resources and opportunities that aim to support their academic success during their time at Waynesburg.

"Members receive lifetime recognition that can be highlighted on resumes, graduate school applications, and LinkedIn profiles," explained Karlee Anderson, academic operations coordinator and assistant to the director of the Stover Center for Constitutional Studies and Moral Leadership. "Sigma Beta Delta also provides access to exclusive opportunities, including scholarships, internships and program funding, mentorship programs and valuable networking connections with fellow high-achieving students and professionals."

Department honors were also awarded to students with the highest GPAs in their respective majors.

The following students were inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta chapter:

• Nathan Bennett, junior finance major from Carmichaels, Pennsylvania
• Evan Como, junior accounting major from Finleyville, Pennsylvania
• Ethan Floyd, junior business management major from Belington, West Virginia
• Trent Giraffa, senior accounting major from Hanover, Pennsylvania
• Sydney Kratsas, junior political science and accounting major from Harmony, Pennsylvania
• Bryce Meyer, junior sports management major from New Market, Maryland
• Avery Molek, junior finance major from Washington, Pennsylvania
• Zachary Reed, junior finance major from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
• Emma Shashura, junior accounting major from Fredericktown, Pennsylvania
• Jaci Shelleby, junior accounting major from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

• Thomas Torcaso, senior accounting major from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
• Jalen Goins, senior business management major from Morgantown, West Virginia

• Amanda Sweeney, senior finance major from Hagerstown, Maryland
• Sydney Devey, senior marketing major from Murrysville, Pennsylvania
• Kory Ansell, senior sports management major from Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania
• Matthew Dennis, senior sports management major from Cibolo, Texas
