Twice as Nice: United Adds Two International Destinations from Denver

Denver's Only Service to the Dominican Republic and New Flights to Mexico City Commenced on Oct. 26

DENVER - Oct. 27, 2025 - Denver International Airport (DEN) celebrated the inauguration by United Airlines of flights to two international destinations on Sunday, Oct. 26. New service to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ) launched in the morning, followed by an evening departure to Mexico City, Mexico (MEX).

Gate events to celebrate the new flights reflected the unique offerings of both destinations. The Consul General of the Dominican Republic for the Western U.S., Alfonso RodrĂguez Zorrilla, and Raemil Tatis Dominguez representing Dominican Republic Tourism, were in Denver to celebrate the only nonstop service between the Mile High City and Punta Cana. With this launch, United adds a brand-new destination and country to DEN's international network; flights are scheduled to operate daily, year-round, with reduced frequency in early fall. A popular leisure destination, demand for travel between Denver and Punta Cana totals more than 55,000 annual passengers, ranking as Denver's second-largest market in the Caribbean.

"It's another landmark day for DEN as we continue to expand our international reach, opening yet another new gateway for Coloradans to travel to Latin America," said DEN CEO Phil Washington. "Bravo to United Airlines for their continued expansion and their strategic efforts to further strengthen the depth and breadth of service offered from DEN."

United's new flights to Mexico City are scheduled to operate daily through March 28, 2026. The Deputy Consul General of Mexico based in Denver, Federico Bass Villarreal, attended Sunday's celebration and promoted the diversity of Mexico's capital city. Mexico ranks as Denver's largest international market in terms of passenger demand, and with these new flights to Mexico City, United provides nonstop access between Denver and five destinations in Mexico, more than any other carrier.

"United's continued commitment to delivering an exceptional travel experience in Denver is underscored by these new routes and the nearly $1 billion in investments we have made to enhance the customer experience and bring greater convenience," said Jonna McGrath, vice president of United's Denver hub. "As Denver's hometown airline, we're proud to offer more destinations than any other carrier, giving Colorado residents and travelers passing through Denver unmatched flexibility and options to explore the destinations they want to visit most."

With the additions of Punta Cana and Mexico City, United now offers flights to 195 total destinations from Denver, including 23 international cities in 12 countries. DEN's global air service network, encompassing nonstop destinations served by all DEN carriers, now totals more than 230 destinations worldwide, including 34 international markets across 19 countries.

Denver International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. DEN is the primary economic engine for the state of Colorado, generating more than $47.2 billion for the region annually.
