Treasury Dept. Seeks Input on GENIUS Act

The U.S. Department of the Treasury is asking for public feedback as it starts shaping new rules under the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act.

The GENIUS Act directs Treasury to encourage innovation in payment stablecoins while ensuring strong consumer protections, safeguards against illicit finance, and financial stability. Treasury's new Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) is the first opportunity for the public to shape how these regulations take form.

Treasury seeks to gather comprehensive feedback from stakeholders to ensure that the regulatory framework established effectively addresses the complexities of stablecoin innovation and its associated risks.
