Berea Church Road Improvement Project: Spring 2025 Update

Stafford County has made significant progress on the Berea Church Road Improvement Project since construction began in April 2024. This locally administered project to improve safety on Berea Church Road costs $12.5 Million and is funded with VDOT Revenue Sharing and Local Funding. Stafford County is currently investing $70 million in transportation improvements across the community enhancing roadway safety, improving accessibility and reducing congestion.

The project will reconstruct Berea Church from its intersection with Truslow Road to its intersection with Route 17. This work will vastly improve the road, providing paved shoulders, improving drainage, constructing wider lanes, and more. The paved shoulders will accommodate bicycles and pedestrians, making it safer for them to travel the road.

Throughout the construction phases, different segments of Berea Church Road will be closed to two-way traffic. Beginning May 5, 2025, Berea Church Road will be fully closed from Berea Knolls Drive and Brimley Drive to Truslow Road. Direct access to either US Route17 or Truslow Road will be provided for local traffic off Berea Church Road, apart from traffic that generally uses the intersection of Berea Church Road and Limestone Way. Local traffic south of this intersection will have indirect access to US-17 and Truslow Road via Crimson Way, Lyons Boulevard and Plantation Drive.
