Science on Tap: 'A Whisker Away', Oct. 23
The UAA Department of Biological Sciences invites students and employees to join for this month's Science on Tap, hosted by Turnagain Brewing, to hear from UAA's Dr. Amy Bishop as she gives her talk 'A Whisker Away.' Beer brewed by BIOL A110 Fermentation class at UAA will be available on tap.
Ever wonder what some of the largest marine predators eat for dinner or how they cope with changing ocean conditions? How heavy metals like mercury move through food webs? Join us to learn about how all of these questions and more are being answered by analyzing whiskers of marine mammals, and how we are using this information for marine conservation and community resilience.
