WASHINGTON, D.C. -Following today's passage of H.R. 21, theBorn-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, in the House of Representatives, Representative Gary Palmer (AL-06)released the following statement:

"I proudly voted in favor of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act because I believe innocent lives deserve to be protected. It should not be controversial for a baby to receive life-saving medical care after surviving a botched abortion," said Rep. Palmer. "This should be common sense. When a baby is born alive, it should be entitled to the same critical medical care as any other living, breathing newborn."

Rep. Palmer concluded,"By voting against this bill, Democrats are saying that the lives of these survivors are disposable. I firmly believe that no life is disposable, and I will continue to work to advance pro-life policies."

Rep. Palmeris a co-sponsor of H.R. 21. The bill passed the House by a vote of 217 - 204 - 1, and the text can be found here.
