BakerHostetler Represents Landmark Theatres in Dismissal of Putative Class Action

Partners Bonnie DelGobbo, Joel Griswold, Teresa Chow and Richard Raile, plus Associates Katharine Walton and Benjamin Janacek, secured the 9th Circuit's affirmation of the dismissal of a putative class action for client Silver Cinemas Acquisition Co. (known as Landmark Theatres), which was accused of violating the federal Video Privacy Protection Act by sharing ticket buyers' information with Facebook.

A three-judge appellate panel affirmed the decision of the lower court, ruling that the VPPA does not cover companies that provide "a classic in-theater moviegoing experience."
