Chinese Ambassador to Solomon Islands Cai Weiming Meets with New Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands Hon. Matthew Cooper Wale

On May 16, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Solomon Islands H.E. Cai Weiming met with Hon. Matthew Cooper Wale, the new Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands.

Ambassador Cai congratulated Hon. Matthew Cooper Wale on his election as the Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands, and stressed that China is ready to work with his new government to expand practical cooperation in various fields, continue deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership featuring mutual respect and common development, and promote new progress in building a China-Solomon Islands community with a shared future in the new era.

P.M.
