Potential delays in garbage services

Republic Services, the City of Fairfield's solid waste and recycling provider, is currently in contract negotiations with IBT Local 439 (International Brotherhood of Teamsters), the union representing some employees at Forward Landfill in Manteca, California. Those employees are engaged in a temporary work stoppage and are picketing at other Republic Services Bay-area locations. As a result, we anticipate temporary service delays for some recycling and waste collection customers in the area. Republic is adjusting operations to maintain service, some Fairfield customers may experience temporary delays.
