Woman cited in lieu of custody for DUII after crash at Barger Drive/Dewey Street

At 4:50 p.m. on May 8, Eugene Police were called to a three-vehicle crash at Barger Drive and Dewey Street. The involved vehicles were a Mazda CS50, Toyota Camry, and Kia Soul. There were multiple people injured and Eugene Springfield Fire medics were called. Traffic was shut down on both sides of Barger Drive. Roads were reopened at 6:17 p.m.

The driver of the Kia Soul, Amy Elizabeth Sundquist, age 48, of Noti, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries and was cited in lieu of custody for DUII and Reckless Driving.

The driver (female 59) and passenger (male 22) of the Mazda were transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the Camry (female 55) was transported to a local hospital.

The Kia Soul had been observed speeding to get in front of multiple vehicles going west on Barger Driver. The involved Toyota Camry was reported to be making a left turn onto Barger Drive from Golden Gardens Street when the Kia Soul drove into a center lane to get around the line of vehicles that were in the westbound lane of Barger Drive. The Kia Soul hit the Toyota Camry then bounced off the Toyota Camry and hit the Mazda CX-S which was in the eastbound lane.
