UL Solutions Warns of Unauthorized UL Marks on Single-Point Locks for Swinging Fire Doors

NORTHBROOK, Ill. - May 29, 2026 - UL Solutions (NYSE: ULS), a global leader in applied safety science, issued a public notice regarding single-point locks, model ML008, sold under the LIKCOO brand, which bear unauthorized UL Certification Marks and may pose safety risks.

The affected products have not been evaluated by UL Solutions to the appropriate safety standards, and it is unknown whether they meet any safety requirements. UL Solutions recommends that these single-point locks be immediately removed from service and replaced with properly certified products.

Single-point locks for swinging fire doors are designed to secure the door at a central point, such as a latch or deadbolt, keeping the door closed to help contain fire and smoke in the event of a fire.

The unauthorized single-point locks identified below have either a ½ inch latch throw or allow adjustment between ½ inch and ¾ inch. UL Solutions has not certified the ½ inch latch-throw configuration or the adjustable version.

Only those locks utilizing a non-adjustable ¾ inch latch throw are authorized to bear the UL Certification Mark and are not subject to this public notice.

The affected single-point locks employ a ½-inch latch throw and bear an unauthorized UL Certification Mark - "UL" in a circle and the word "LISTED" - and the following:

  • LIKCOO
  • cULus
  • SINGLE POINT LOCK
  • ORLATCH(F 3HRS)
  • R38850
  • ML008 5MB2

The products were found in Lebanon but may be available in other areas.

"The presence of unauthorized UL Marks on these products is a serious concern," said Karine Johnfroe, vice president and general manager of the Built Environment group at UL Solutions. "We urge anyone who has purchased these products to remove them from service immediately and replace them with properly certified fire door hardware."

UL Solutions leverages decades of experience in testing and certifying hardware intended for installation with fire doors to help manufacturers demonstrate compliance with safety standards. The UL Mark, widely recognized and respected around the world, indicates that hardware for fire doors has been certified by UL Solutions to the applicable safety standards.
