‘Congress Has Failed to Do Its Job’: Sen. Rick Scott Calls on Both Parties to Cut Spending, Address $40 Trillion National Debt

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Rick Scott called on Congress to cut spending and address America's $40 trillion national debt in the latest installment of his "Rescuing America" project.

In the video, Senator Scott calls for both Democrats and Republicans to cut inflation-fueling deficit spending, balance the budget, and pay down the $40 trillion national debt.

Senator Rick Scott said, "If an American spent $1 million every single day since the birth of Jesus Christ, they would still have spent less than two percent of our national debt. Republicans and Democrats put us in this position, spending billions of taxpayer dollars on wasteful earmarks year after year. This hurts YOU, the taxpayer - skyrocketing the cost of housing, healthcare, groceries, and almost everything else in your life.

"The government has become completely unaccountable to taxpayers. Congress has failed to do its job as a responsible fiscal steward for the American people. Our federal debt is the leading reason why everything costs you so much more."
