Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services and The 75 Million Campaign to Provide 250 Grocery Gift Cards for Families Struggling with Rising Costs

The 75 Million Campaign, in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Constituent Services, and joined by Georgia Coalition for the Peoples' Agenda, Georgia STAND-UP, and Georgia AFL-CIO,will sponsor a grocery store pop-up at Wayfield Foods in Atlanta, Georgia, providing 250 gift cards - each worth one-week's pay at Georgia's minimum wage - to hardworking families who are struggling with the rising cost of living while wages stay stagnant (recipients will be pre-selected and registered before the event).

At 10:30 AM, these organizations, in partnership with the City of Atlanta, will hold a press conference to shed light on the affordability crisis for working women and families in Georgia.

In Georgia, minimum wage is still just $7.25/hour, which means women who work 40 hours a week at minimum wage are bringing home $290/week pre-tax. As the prices of food, gas, and everyday necessities continue to rise, working women are increasingly struggling to make ends meet for their families. Bringing these challenges to the forefront at a grocery store will build momentum for tangible policy changes at every level of government to address the soaring costs families are facing every single day.

Additional press logistics will be provided following RSVP
