The University of West Florida will reflect on traditions, connect with the community and look toward the future of the University during its eighth annual Founders Week, which will be held April 13-18. Founders Week is a weeklong celebration that allows the UWF family to come together, welcoming alumni and visitors to campus. This opportunity gives Argos and friends the chance to give back.
"I'm excited to experience my first UWF Founders Week and see the spirit of UWF in action," said UWF President Manny Diaz Jr. "Since my first day as president, the commitment to this institution from students, alumni, faculty, staff and the community has been discernible. I can't wait to join in the weeklong celebration that helps us continue reaching and exceeding our goals."
The week kicks off on April 13 with "Paint UWF Blue and Green" day. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the Argos everywhere are invited to show their Argo Spirit all day by wearing blue and green. Post your photos on social media using the #UWFFoundersWeek to spread your Argo pride!
As the week continues, UWF will celebrate with the Argos Day of Service on April 15. UWF's Emerald Coast campus will host a beach cleanup at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island, the UWF Alumni Association will serve at Manna Food Pantries, and UWF faculty and staff at UWF's Pensacola campus will volunteer at the UWF Community Garden. Those interested in participating can learn more and register online at uwf.edu/argosdayofservice.
UWF's eighth annual Day of Giving, an online, social-media-driven effort that supports the University and its programs, will be held on April 16. Argonauts and friends are invited to give to their favorite UWF funds at dayofgiving.uwf.edu.
