SECU, Maryland's largest state-chartered credit union, is proud to announce that Sharonne R. Bonardi, Esq., J.D., MBA, has been named Chair of its Board of Directors. Bonardi, who has served as a SECU board director for more than 15 years, brings decades of leadership experience in tax administration, financial services, law and public service to the role.

"Sharonne's deep knowledge of financial matters, commitment to Maryland and extensive experience as a leader and public servant make her an exceptional choice to serve as Chair of SECU's Board of Directors," said Dave Sweiderk, President and CEO of SECU Maryland. "Sharonne has demonstrated thoughtful leadership and a strong understanding of the needs of our members in her tenure as a board member. We are thrilled to welcome her perspective and experience as we continue to strengthen SECU for generations of Marylanders."

Bonardi currently serves as Executive Director of the Federation of Tax Administrators, a position she was appointed to in January 2023. "SECU has a long history of putting people first and investing in the communities we call home, and I am honored to serve as Chair of the Board during this important time," said Bonardi. "I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members and the SECU leadership team to build on the organization's strong foundation to continue delivering meaningful value to our members across Maryland."

Bonardi earned her bachelor's degree in English from Trinity University in 1989. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law and a Master of Business Administration from The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School. She was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1993.
