AdvaMed Concludes Largest U.S. MedTech Conference Ever

San Diego-AdvaMed, the MedTech Association, the world's largest trade association representing medtech innovators, just concluded its most impactful MedTech Conference to date, welcoming 3,708 attendees and representatives from 1,800 companies across 38 countries. This year marked the highest member company participation ever, with many organizations sending their largest delegations to date. The 2025 conference coincided with AdvaMed's 50^thanniversary, a milestone offering the ideal opportunity to explore the theme, "Medtech redefines the future of health care."

The MedTech Conference 2025 was led by: Steering Committee co-chairs Lisa Earnhardt, executive vice president and group president, Medical Devices at Abbott; and Mick Farrell, chairman and CEO of ResMed; Program Committee chair Holly Sheffield, president of CooperSurgical; and the Host and Local Committee co-chairs, Shaye Exner, vice president, Events and Sponsorship of Biocom California; and Juliana Elstad, CEO of NuVibe Medical. The MedTech Conference featured hundreds of sessions and company presentations representing every aspect of medtech. Program highlights included:

• Whitaker welcomed attendees with remarks and a dynamic video highlighting patients whose lives have been transformed through medtech.
• In headline keynote remarks, Zimmer Biomet's Chairman, President, and CEO Ivan Tornos and Chief Movement Officer Arnold Schwarzenegger teamed up to deliver a powerful call to action for the future of health care.
• A keynote panel featured Lisa Earnhardt (Abbott), Mick Farrell (ResMed), Shan Jegatheeswaran (Johnson & Johnson MedTech Digital), and John Doyle (Microsoft), moderated by Todd Mersch (Microsoft), discussing how artificial intelligence is reshaping health care.
• MedTech Color hosted its eighth annual breakfast, featuring Dr. Jennifer Jones-McMeans of Abbott Vascular, who shared best practices for designing and executing inclusive clinical trials.
• MedTechVets held its third annual Breakfast Networking and Panel, highlighting best practices for enhancing veteran visibility and hiring in medtech.
• International exhibitors and speakers from 38+ countries-including Canada, the UK, Japan, Germany, Australia, and India-brought a global perspective to the conference.
• Sessions spotlighted how digital health and AI are transforming patient care, with leaders from Dexcom, Google, Microsoft, Nanowear, and Oura discussing generative AI, wearables, and connected care.
• AdvaMed hosted 170+ company presentations, featuring the new Pitch & Pour: Start-up Competition and Happy Hour, where Cohesys CEO Michael Floros won the top prize.
• The conference featured the Accel Leadership Seminar, panels on investment and financing, and the Innovation Pavilion showcasing next-gen technologies.
• A town hall featured FDA CDRH leaders, including Dr. Michelle Tarver, with AdvaMed's Janet Trunzo moderating audience Q&A.
• In the Patient Pavilion , attendees met with patient organizations and heard directly from patients of leading medtech companies.
• The AdvaMed in Actionseries spotlighted how AdvaMed supports member companies and drives industry-wide standards advancing safety, quality, and innovation.
• AdvaMed® awarded its 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award to Mike Mussallem , former CEO of Edwards Lifesciences.
• MedTech Innovator awarded $450,000 to five startups; Armor Medical took home the $350,000 Grand Prize.
• Wavelet won the 2025 MedTech Innovator Execution Award and the Virginia Shimer Rybski Memorial Award ($25,000 prize).
• More than 365 early-career professionals, students, and veterans participated in panels, networking, and career development programming.

The next MedTech Conference will be held in Boston, Oct. 18-21, 2026, at the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center (MCEC). Call for sessions and company presentations opens January 2026.
