Cybersecurity Tip of the Week – Protect Your Online Photos – They Hold More Information Than You Think

Cloud photo libraries and social media albums often contain years of personal history, including family members, birthdays, locations, travel patterns, homes, vehicles, and important life events. If an account is compromised, attackers may gain access to information that can be used for identity theft, targeted scams, or answering common security questions. Review your photo-sharing settings regularly, avoid making albums public unless necessary, and enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) on accounts that store photos. Be mindful of what's visible in pictures too; addresses, school logos, ID badges, and license plates can unintentionally reveal more than intended. Protecting your photos helps protect your privacy, your family, and your digital identity.
