University leader conducts summer safety inspections and express appreciation to frontline staff

On August 3, Li Bin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC NJU Committee and Vice President of NJU, visited key areas across Xianlin Campus to conduct on-site inspections on safety management and service assurance and to offer heartfelt condolences to frontline faculty and staff who remained committed to their posts.

At the south gate booth, Li Bin expressed sincere gratitude to security personnel for their diligent service, carefully inquiring about the shift arrangements at the gate and the measures in place for heat prevention and cooling.

At Eryuan Square, Li Bin warmly greeted the landscaping and sanitation workers performing their duties, asked in detail about the provision of heat-prevention supplies, and urged relevant departments to ensure labor protection measures and logistical support during hot weather. He encouraged everyone to continue their meticulous cleaning work to create a clean and orderly learning and living environment for students and teachers.

At the teaching building construction site, Li Bin gained a thorough understanding of the construction progress and safety measures in place. He emphasized the importance of frequent inspections and active solutions to identify and address issues promptly. He also stressed the need to tackle common problems such as rusty door handles and dirty walls immediately. Regular checks and updates of fire equipment to maintain safety facilities in optimal condition were deemed essential. Furthermore, he emphasized attention to environmental details, such as updating greenery arrangements over time to reflect the quality and character of the campus in every corner.

At the Fifth Student Canteen, Li Bin looked into the back kitchen, carefully inspected various stages of food storage, operational procedures, and food sampling. He gave full recognition to the freshness of the ingredients and hygiene management in the cafeteria. Li Bin stated that the cafeteria should further enhance its emergency response mechanisms while maintaining high hygiene standards. It was urged to ensure all types of safety equipment remain intact and usable, thereby continuously improving food safety and fire safety assurance capabilities to provide more reassuring dining environments for students and faculty.

In No.4 Student Dormitory Building, Li Bin inquired with dormitory staff about summer student accommodation management and shift arrangements while inspecting updates on bulletin board information and environmental maintenance. He also engaged in friendly conversations with business school students staying on campus during the summer break, asking them in detail about their academic progress and summer plans. Li Bin encouraged the students to cherish their time, focus deeply on their studies, enhance their professional skills and comprehensive abilities, and strive to grow into outstanding talents able to shoulder great responsibilities.

At the Chemistry Building, Li Bin conducted surveys on laboratory safety management and hazardous material management. During this crucial period of summer research initiatives, many students were still working on the frontlines of scientific research. Li Bin communicated warmly with the students, gaining insights into their opinions and suggestions concerning laboratory safety management and logistical support. The students expressed satisfaction with the school's comprehensive laboratory safety policies, complete protective facilities, and timely logistical responses. Li Bin affirmed the achievements in laboratory safety management, subsequently inspecting the operation status of video monitoring systems and safety warning devices. He stressed the importance of fully utilizing the monitoring systems for seamless real-time information exchanges and coordinated responses with the logistical and property departments to ensure unobstructed fire escapes, well-maintained fire facilities, and the prevention of risks.

At the campus hospital, Li Bin extended cordial sympathies to medical staff working on the front lines, asking in detail about the diagnosis and treatment services provided to faculty and students remaining on campus during summer. He carefully reviewed hospital duty arrangements and the deployment and operational status of fire safety equipment. Li Bin expressed gratitude to medical personnel for their dedication to safeguarding the health of teachers and students during the summer. He emphasized the need for the campus hospital to continue providing healthcare services and reinforcing fire safety management to ensure a safe and orderly medical environment, effectively protecting the lives, health, and overall safety of teachers and students.

In the power and water monitoring center, Li Bin conducted a detailed inspection of the real-time status of the monitoring system for water and electricity operations, inquiring about water and electricity supply guarantees and emergency staffing during the summer, as well as the power load and supply-demand balance on the top floors of student dormitories. Li Bin called for scientific allocation of power resources and thorough and detailed implementation of safeguarding measures to ensure safe and stable water and electricity supplies across the campus during summer.

Personnel from the Security Office, Laboratory and Equipment Management Office, Infrastructure Office, and Logistics Service Group accompanied the on-site visits.
