WHAT:
Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. will serve as keynote speaker at the National Trail of Tears Association being held in Springfield, Missouri. During the conference, the Cherokee Nation will be on site to issue new or replacement photo IDs for the tribe's Photo ID Field Event.

Monday, Sept. 29, (Tribal Photo ID Event) from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., arrive no later than 5:30 p.m.

SPRINGFIELD, MO.- The National Trail of Tears Association will hold their 28th National Trail of Tears Conference & Symposium starting Monday, Sept. 29.
Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. is the keynote speaker at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
Cherokee Nation is also hosting a Citizenship Registration & Photo ID Field Event from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center. Tribal Registration will be on site to issue new photo IDs or replacements.
The tribe is aligned with the mission of the National Trail of Tears Association and visits with the various state chapters and leaders to recognize their contributions to preserving and promoting awareness to the legacy of the federal Indian Removal Policy and forced relocation of the Cherokee Nation to Indian Territory.
This year, the symposium offers sessions such as Extinguishing Indigenous Land Claims in Missouri and the Hildebrand and Binge Routes in Missouri.
Registration is available online or on-site at the University Plaza Hotel.
