WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) - a member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development - today announced $460,812 in federal resources for Kansas State University - Salina (KSU-Salina) through the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Drone Education and Workforce Training Grant Program, which is administered by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
This federal investment will help support the establishment of KSU-Salina's Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) PATHS Program to increase the number of qualified UAS professionals entering the industry and strengthen the future aviation workforce pipeline.
"Kansas has a long history of leading the way in aviation, and K-State Salina is equipping the workforce that will keep our state at the forefront of the next generation of aerospace technology," said Sen. Moran. "This investment will support K-State Salina's ability to educate and train students in uncrewed aircraft systems and prepare students for good-paying jobs in a rapidly growing field. I look forward to how these resources will help create new opportunities for Kansans to play a critical role in strengthening our nation's aerospace capabilities."
