City Council will hear briefings on budget proposal

April 7, 2025 - The City Council will meet on Wednesday for its regular work and legislative sessions as Hampton's budget for Fiscal Year 2026 begins to take shape.

At the 1 p.m. work session, the council members will receive a briefing on the highlights of the city's manager's recommended budget for the new fiscal year, as well as a briefing on recommendations for the 2026-30 Capital Improvement Plan. The city manager's office will present its full recommended budget on Tuesday, April 15. The council will then hold two public hearings on the budget before taking a final vote on May 14. The new fiscal year begins on July 1.

The legislative session at 6:30 p.m. will include consideration of several rezoning and use permit applications.

Both meetings will be in chambers on the eighth floor of City Hall, 22 Lincoln St. The meetings will be streamed live at hampton.gov/livetv, and will be televised on the city's channel, Cox 47 and Verizon 22. Click here for details on how to attend, and for full agendas.
