Great Eagle Group Sponsors “Mindful Discovery: Community City Hunt” by InspiringHK Integrating Physical Activity, Mindfulness and Community Exploration to Promote Mental Health

(10 October 2026 - Hong Kong) - Sponsored by Great Eagle Group (HKEX stock code: 41) and organised by InspiringHK Sports Foundation, "Mindful Discovery: Community City Hunt" was successfully held today with the full support of Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Champion REIT (HKEX stock code: 2778), Eaton Club and the Hong Kong Housing Authority. Held in support of World Mental Health Day, the event combined physical activity, mindfulness experiences and community exploration to encourage greater awareness of mental health in everyday life while strengthening connections between individuals and the community.

Starting at Hong Kong Metropolitan University, nearly 200 participants made their way through the Ho Man Tin and Mong Kok communities, completing 17 distinctive checkpoints before arriving at the finish point at Langham Place, Mong Kok. Each checkpoint integrated physical activity and mental health elements into the community experience, enabling participants to explore the neighbourhood while gaining a broader understanding of the importance of mental well-being.

Starting with the Community: Integrating Mental Health into Everyday Life

Great Eagle Group has long been committed to contributing to community and believes that health encompasses mental health as well as the connections between individuals and their communities. By combining community city hunt with holistic well-being concepts, the event encouraged participants to slow down, become more aware of their feelings and surroundings, and develop a more positive understanding of mental health through walking, teamwork and a range of experiences in familiar neighbourhood settings.

Ms Violet Wong, Corporate Communications Manager of Great Eagle Group, said, "We believe that a company's value is reflected not only in its business development, but also in how it leverages its resources and capabilities to create lasting value for the community. Mental well-being matters to everyone. We are pleased to sponsor InspiringHK Sports Foundation's "Mindful Discovery: Community City Hunt", bringing together physical activity, mindfulness and community connection in an engaging and accessible way. We hope to encourage people to take better care of their mental well-being amid busy daily lives, while also looking out for those around them. This initiative is closely aligned with Great Eagle Group's longstanding commitment to promoting health, inclusion and community connection."

Cross-sector Collaboration: Harnessing the Positive Power of Sport

The event brought together the strengths of the corporate, non-profit, academic and public sectors to deliver positive messages about mental well-being within the community through cross-sector collaboration. InspiringHK Sports Foundation energised the event through sport and translated mental health concepts into engaging community experiences. The successful delivery of the event was also made possible by the dedication and invaluable support of volunteers from various participating organisations.

Mr Jonathan Tong, Strategic Council Member of InspiringHK Sports Foundation, said, "Sport is not only a way to strengthen physical fitness, but also a bridge to support mental well-being, relieve stress and build interpersonal connections. In navigating the challenges of everyday life, regular exercise and mindfulness practice can help young people and the wider community develop strong physical and mental resilience. We are honoured to collaborate with Great Eagle Group and all supporting organisations to bring sport and mental health elements into the Ho Man Tin and Mong Kok communities, encouraging everyone to refocus on their mental health while bringing positive energy to the community."

Hong Kong Metropolitan University supported the event by providing its campus as the starting point, connecting participants from the university with the wider Ho Man Tin and Mong Kok communities.

Ms Zenobia Chia, Director of Development and Alumni Affairs of Hong Kong Metropolitan University, said, "HKMU has always placed great emphasis on students' whole-person development and physical and mental well-being. The University pioneered the introduction of a compulsory Mental Health First Aid course, equipping students with essential mental health knowledge and fostering a caring and mutually supportive campus culture. We also encourage students to step beyond the classroom and connect with the community. We are delighted that HKMU students participated in this event alongside community members to promote mental well-being through action and extend care and positive energy from the campus into the community."

Mobilising Community Support: Turning Care into Everyday Action Great Eagle Group believes that building healthy and resilient communities requires the collective participation of all sectors of society. Through "Mindful Discovery: Community City Hunt", the Group hopes to further mobilise community support, encourage the public to integrate mental health into everyday life, and foster a more positive community through mutual support and care.
