Greenway Explorer Map

Capital Area Greenway Explorer

Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is excited to launch the Capital Area Greenway Explorer Map. This web-based application allows users to explore the Greenway and locate the nearest trailheads, parking lots, restrooms, bike repair stations, and more!

This project was born from the Office of Strategy and Innovation's Raleigh Impact Lab, a one-of-a-kind government consulting program. The Impact Lab uses human-centered design to solve Raleigh's biggest challenges through teamwork and creativity. It turns "How might we..." questions into real solutions. How to use the Greenway Explorer Map

The Greenway Explorer Map zooms into the user's current location, allowing them to highlight the nearest trailhead, parking areas, restrooms, bike rental stations, dog parks, bike repair stations, playgrounds, and parks. Integrated buttons provide quick access to the Greenway Closures and Alerts page and the option to submit a SeeClickFix report.

The application is optimized for mobile use but works well on computers and tablets. Please note that this map is designed for quick, on-the-go locations of nearby amenities and intentionally does not offer navigation or routing services.

In addition to accessing the Greenway Explorer directly online, a number of signs have been set up along the Greenway, which provides QR Codes that can be scanned with a mobile device to access the web application.
