AUC Chairperson received Executive Director - Africa Group II Constituency

The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, today received Mr. Harold Tavares, Executive Director representing the Africa Group II Constituency on the Board of Directors of the @WorldBankGroup.

They the continent's strategic priorities, including the consolidation of peace & security, the creation of an enabling environment for investment, the acceleration of economic development & trade integration, as well as strengthening Africa's representation within the governance structures of the World Bank Group.

The meeting also addressed challenges related to debt sustainability, financing strategic infrastructure; particularly the development of regional corridors, & the implementation of transformative initiatives in the areas of agriculture, water resources management, & energy, notably AgriConnect, WaterForward, & Mission 300, in support of the continent's economic transformation.
