These leaders were elected during the National Board's November board meeting. They will join 27 other education and business professionals who serve three-year terms on the National Board's Board of Directors - including Dr. Travis Bristol, associate professor of teacher education and education policy at the University of California, Berkeley School of Education, who serves as board chair. A majority of the National Board's board members are National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs), classroom educators, and Teachers of Color.

"I am thrilled to welcome our new board members, who add even more depth and expertise to a board committed to elevating the teaching profession."
The National Board also recognizes and thanks Tonia Holmes-Sutton, NBCT, and Dat Le, NBCT, who are retiring from the Board of Directors after their dedicated service to the organization.
Across the country, more than 141,000 teachers have achieved National Board Certification, demonstrating that they have met the profession's highest standards for accomplished teaching. Certification is available in 25 certificate areas, spanning Pre-K through 12th grade.
