The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the rehabilitation of the Putnam Memorial Bridge in Glastonbury and Wethersfield will start on Monday, March 16, 2026. The purpose of this project is to increase the load rating factor for all legal, permit, and emergency vehicles through strengthening and bracing of the existing structural steel. The project will also include deck patching and new wearing surface installation, drainage repairs, inspection catwalk removal, substructure concrete repairs, and full painting of the bridge.
CTDOT Project number 0053-0199 was awarded to ROTHA Contracting Company at a cost of $48 Million on February 27, 2026, and is scheduled to start on March 16, 2026 and be completed by November 3, 2028. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill, CT.
