BLM approves mineral exploration in Inyo County

RIDGECREST, Calif. - The BLM has approved exploratory drilling at 22 sites totaling approximately half an acre of public lands within a 2,424-acre block of existing mining claims on public lands south of Lone Pine in Inyo County, Calif.

The decision allows Mojave Precious Metals Inc. to modify its existing plan of operations to drill exploratory boreholes on public lands where the company holds mining claims. The project would gather data on known mineral deposits, including gold, to assess the potential for future mining operations. The area is designated as open to mineral exploration.

The project supports President Trump's Executive Order 14241, "Immediate Measures to Increase American Mineral Production," to boost domestic mineral production, reduce U.S. reliance on foreign minerals, and create jobs.

The record of decision and other documents are available at the BLM National NEPA Register.
