KARIMUN -- PT TIMAH Tbk's commitment to supporting communities in need has once again been demonstrated through the provision of a wheelchair to Kadir Yatim, a resident of Teluk Radang Village, North Kundur District, Karimun Regency.
Kadir has been suffering from a stroke for nearly five years and has been confined to bed at his home. Over the past seven months, his condition has worsened, leaving him entirely dependent on family members for daily activities.
Kadir's son, Muhammad Zaid, explained that various treatment efforts had previously been undertaken, including traditional medicine. However, his father's condition has not shown significant improvement, making assistive devices such as a wheelchair an urgent necessity.
"Previously, he needed assistance just to sit. With this wheelchair, he can move more easily and even be taken outside for sunlight. Before this, he was confined indoors," said Zaid on Monday (April 27, 2026).
Zaid added that due to their limited financial condition, the family was unable to afford a wheelchair. As a result, his father had been bedridden and faced serious mobility challenges.
He expressed his gratitude and appreciation for PT TIMAH's support, which has helped ease the burden on their family. He also hopes that the assistance will contribute to his father's recovery.
"Thank you very much for this assistance. For families like ours with limited means, support like this is very meaningful. With this wheelchair, he can get sunlight and carry out activities more easily," he said.
The wheelchair is expected to improve Kadir's quality of life, particularly by supporting his daily mobility despite his physical limitations.
"We hope PT TIMAH continues to grow and keeps supporting communities in need, as assistance like this is truly important," he added. (*)
