Boozman Applauds John Thomas Shepherd’s Confirmation as U.S. District Court Judge

WASHINGTON-U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) welcomed Senate confirmation of John Thomas Shepherd to serve as a judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas.

"I am pleased to congratulate John Thomas Shepherd on his confirmation and am confident he will serve with the same integrity, professionalism and sound judgment he has demonstrated throughout his career," said Boozman. "We are grateful for his deep commitment to public service and the rule of law."

Shepherd was nominated by President Trump and enjoyed the support of Boozman, who introduced Shepherd to the Senate Judiciary Committee earlier this year, throughout the confirmation process. A native of El Dorado, Shepherd is a graduate of Rice University and the University of Arkansas School of Law. He previously served as a prosecuting attorney and later as a judge for Arkansas's 13th Judicial Circuit.

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas includes 34 counties stretching from Texarkana and El Dorado to Fayetteville and Fort Smith.
