Fair Housing Event to be held April 15 at City Hall

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, the Columbia Housing Authority, in partnership with the City of Columbia Housing and Neighborhood Services, will host a special Fair Housing event at the City Council Chambers located in Columbia City Hall, 701 E. Broadway. This event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The gathering will feature a welcome address by Ward 4 Council Member Nick Foster and a keynote presentation by Professor Rigel Oliveri.

This event serves as a collaborative platform to discuss critical housing issues within the Columbia community.

Professor Rigel Oliveri is a distinguished legal scholar and the James Campbell Smith, Sr. Professor of Law at the University of Missouri. Oliveri is a leading expert in Fair Housing law. Her research and litigation experience focus on housing discrimination, zoning and land use, and the intersection of property rights and social justice. Her extensive background in civil rights advocacy provides her with a profound understanding of the legal frameworks necessary to foster equitable housing opportunities.
