Biola is looking forward to welcoming students back to start the Spring 2025 semester next week. As students prepare to travel back to Biola's campus in La Mirada, we want to provide an update on what road travel may look like. As of today, the fires in Los Angeles County are not causing any road closures.
Students who are driving south (from Northern California) will be driving near the Hurst and Archer fires on the 5 freeway and the Sunset fire near downtown L.A. There are no road closures at this time. Those driving south east from Santa Barbara area, do not take PCH (Hwy 1) and instead take the 5 freeway. If driving from Nevada, Arizona or the San Bernardino Valley, avoid the 210 freeway and instead take the 10 freeway west to the 57 freeway south and exit on Imperial Hwy.
Above shows a map indicating where the closest fires are to Biola's campus, which are nearly 40 miles away. The only impact Biola is experiencing at this time is weakened air quality. However, the air quality continues to fluctuate.
If you have been directly affected by any of the fires, please contact Biola at [email protected].
