Man Critically Wounded in 3 a.m. Parking Lot Shooting at South Nashville Strip Business Center

Detectives are pursuing leads in this morning's critical shooting of an 18-year-old man in the parking lot of a strip business center at the corner of Haywood Lane and Apache Trail. The victim is in life-threatening condition at Skyline Medical Center. He is from Central America and is not believed to have relatives in the U.S. Efforts are being made to contact his next of kin.

The investigation to this point shows that the wounded victim was driven from the strip center to a residence on Kirby Avenue, from where he was transported in another vehicle to Southern Hills Medical Center and subsequently transferred by helicopter to Skyline.

Due to the victim's very critical condition, the MNPD's Homicide Unit is leading this investigation. Anyone with information about what led to gunfire in the strip business center just after 3 a.m. today is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
