Chinese Embassy in Solomon Islands Hosts an Awarding Ceremony for 2025 Chinese Government Scholarship

On August 19, the Chinese Embassy in Solomon Islands held an  awarding ceremony for receivers of the 2025 Chinese Government Scholarship. Chinese Ambassador Cai Weiming, Hon. Tozen Leokana, Minister of Education and Human Resources Development(MEHRD), Hon. Tagini, Minister of Forestry and Research, Dr. Franco Rodie, Permanent Secretary of MEHRD, scholarship receivers and their parents, members of the Solomon Islands-China Scholars and Alumni Association attended the event.

Ambassador Cai congratulated the scholarship receivers, noting that the deepening China-Solomon Islands cooperation in education provides strong support for SI' s human resource development. He encouraged the students to study diligently, broaden their knowledge, contribute to national development, serve as ambassadors of friendly exchanges between China and Solomon Islands, and help create an even brighter future for China-Solomon Islands friendship.

Minister Leokana expressed gratitude to China for its support to the development of SI's education sector, and expressed hope for cultivating more talents to promote national development.

Ambassador Cai Weiming and the Minister Leokana presented certificates to the scholarship receivers. Chinese Embassy staff gave an orientation on China's educational policies and university life, reminding students of useful tips when traveling to China for the first time. Representatives of current and graduated Solomon Islands students in China shared their study and life experiences, and engaged in friendly exchanges with the new students and their parents.
