CIAC and Responsible Distribution Canada Renew Responsible Care® Partnership Agreement

The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) and Responsible Distribution Canada (RDC) have renewed their longstanding Responsible Care® Partnership Agreement, reinforcing their shared commitment to safety, stewardship, sustainability, and continuous improvement across Canada's chemistry value chain.

Originally established in 1997, the agreement supports alignment between CIAC's Responsible Care® and RDC's Responsible Distribution® program. Under the renewed agreement, CIAC and RDC will continue collaborating to advance Responsible Care principles and strengthen alignment on safety, emergency preparedness, sustainability, and product stewardship throughout the chemistry supply chain. The agreement also formalizes updated governance processes, annual performance reviews, and shared key performance indicators to support ongoing collaboration and accountability.

The agreement was formally signed on May 25, 2026, in conjunction with RDC's Board meeting. Representing CIAC were Greg Moffatt, President and CEO; Rick Babington Wentworth Technologies, Vice-Chair of the Board; and Kara Edwards, Vice-President, Responsible Care. Representing RDC were Catherine Wieckowska, President, and Chris Halberg, Univar Solutions and Chair of the RDC Board.

Collectively, members distribute and market over 80,000 chemical and ingredient products to more than 100,000 customers domestically and internationally. As shippers of critical chemical and ingredient products and services to end-users such as community water & waste purification, energy, agriculture, automotive, pharmaceutical and food industries, RDC's members are key stakeholders to Canada's chemistry supply chain.
