City of Nampa Reinforces Commitment to Transparent Process

On Monday, November 3, 2025, the Nampa City Council will vote on a resolution in response to a courtesy letter received from the Office of the Canyon County Prosecutor indicating a complaint of an alleged open meeting violation. Even though the letter does not constitute a formal allegation and lacks specific details regarding dates or motions, the City of Nampa will vote to "cure" the alleged violation.

The City of Nampa is of the opinion that its motions and supporting legal basis to go into executive sessions related to the Ford Idaho Center conveyance, and the topics discussed therein, were compliant with Idaho's open meetings laws based on the information the City of Nampa possessed at the time. Notwithstanding, the City of Nampa remains committed to transparency in the Ford Idaho Center conveyance process.

To facilitate the continuation of the conveyance process of the Ford Idaho Center to the College of Western Idaho, Nampa City Council will vote on next steps, which would include voiding the actions taken during the public meetings on September 15 and October 6 regarding the Ford Idaho Center. Voiding the past action taken and repeating the public hearing process and vote is the simplest way of ensuring all legal qualifications were met through this complex process.
