Ascension St. Elizabeth Participates in Annual Babies with Books Read-A-Thon

Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital's NICU is participating in the 2026 Babies With Books Read-A-Thon.

This is a friendly reading competition between NICUs across the country to encourage reading with babies for its many benefits to them and their families. Reading aloud to babies, especially our tiniest patients in the NICU, supports infant brain development, promotes family bonding, and reduces stress.

This Read-A-Thon (Sept. 14-24, 2026) builds on last September's event in which 249 NICUs participated and recorded a total of 73,817 reading sessions over the 11-day period.
