Moldovan-Dutch cooperation and regional security discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

17 December 2025, Chișinău - State Secretary Valeriu Mija held a meeting with Sanne Löwenhardt, Deputy Director for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Maaike Keizer, Deputy Head of the Netherlands' Mission to the Republic of Moldova.

The discussions focused on the Republic of Moldova's European integration process, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and developments in regional security, with an emphasis on hybrid threats to the country. The positive dynamics of Moldovan-Dutch relations were also highlighted.

State Secretary Valeriu Mija expressed appreciation for the Netherlands' consistent support in advancing Moldova's European path, as well as for the assistance provided in countering hybrid threats, which has contributed to the integrity of electoral processes and democratic resilience. The importance of Dutch expertise in developing national institutional capacities in line with European Union standards was also underlined.

The representatives of the Kingdom of the Netherlands welcomed the progress made by Moldova in its European integration process and reaffirmed their readiness to continue bilateral support, emphasizing the importance of ongoing dialogue to strengthen regional security and the resilience of the Republic of Moldova.
