This is the latest edition of the Green Deal Funding Alert, a monthly newsletter that keeps you informed about funding opportunities and initiatives that support sustainable development and the transition to climate neutrality. This month's edition highlights the opportunity to participate in stakeholder consultations on mainstreaming climate, energy and environmental priorities across the Multiannual Financial Framework, and presents a prize that gives recognition to projects on renewable energy solutions for energy communities, and a call for applications for technical assistance to combat energy poverty.
1. Have your say: Mainstreaming climate, energy and environmental priorities across the Multiannual Financial Framework
Would you like to play a part in shaping the CoR's position on integrating climate, energy, and environmental priorities into the next MFF?
The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is preparing an opinion on Mainstreaming climate, energy and environmental priorities across the Multiannual Financial Framework, led by rapporteur Rafał Trzaskowski (PL/EPP), Mayor of Warsaw. Representatives of a range of organisations are invited to join the stakeholder consultation event on Wednesday 25 February 2026 (11:30-13:00 CET), in person at the European Committee of the Regions. 2. EPAH 2026 technical assistance - 3rd call for applications now open!
Do you work in energy poverty at the local level in Europe?
You may be eligible to receive tailored, hands-on technical support from experts. The European Commission's Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) has launched its 2026 Call for Technical Assistance.
Whether you're shaping a new energy-poverty initiative or improving an existing one, the EPAH's technical assistance can help turn your ambition into a real-world impact. When practically applied, this assistance can take many forms, including:
Selected applicants will receive customised support to help design, strengthen, or scale up concrete actions - from early diagnosis to implementation.

3. Innovative renewable energy solutions for energy communities: Call for applications for recognition prize
Are you part of an energy community that has pioneered an innovative form of social governance?
The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) has launched a call for applications for a prize under the Horizon Europe Framework to reward energy communities across Europe that are implementing inclusive and multi-participatory governance structures. The aim of the contest is to inspire other stakeholders by showcasing best practices from the prize-winning communities, enabling similar solutions to be replicated in different EU countries. A total prize pool of EUR 1 million will be awarded to up to 10 winners.
