AHN Allegheny General Hospital Welcomes Emmy-Winning Drama Series 'THE PITT' Back for Season 3 Filming

PITTSBURGH - Allegheny Health Network's (AHN) Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) is once again set to serve as a backdrop and inspiration for the Emmy^®-winning Max Original drama series, 'THE PITT,' from Warner Bros. Television, as production returns to the hospital this week to film exterior scenes for the show's third season.

Filming locations will include the hospital's LifeFlight helipad and various entryways to the facility. Interior scenes will continue to be filmed on set at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, Calif., which meticulously replicates the unique architectural and historic details of AGH.

"Welcoming THE PITT cast and production team back to AGH has become a wonderful tradition for us each fall," said Imran Qadeer, MD, AGH president. "We are so pleased to continue our collaboration with the show."

During their visit, the cast and crew will be greeted by a striking 10-by-18-foot chalk mural on display outside the emergency department. Created by local artist Erik Greenawalt, the artwork features the show's cast members with the South Tower as a backdrop.

Starring Noah Wyle, 'THE PITT' is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today's America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh. The show is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and created by R. Scott Gemmill. Among its executive producers are Carnegie Mellon University graduates John Wells and Michael Hissrich.

The series has garnered critical acclaim for its accurate, compelling portrayal of the current healthcare landscape since premiering on HBO Max in 2025. 'THE PITT' recently took home six wins, including Outstanding Drama Series, across 26 nominations at this year's Emmy Awards.
