Fairmont State University's Academy for the Arts production of Anastasia runs May 15-16 and May 21-22 at 7:30 pm and May 17 and 23 at 2:00 pm. All performances take place in the Wallman Hall Theater. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.fairmontstate.edu/boxoffice or in person at the Fairmont State Box Office in Wallman Hall.
From Tony winners Terrence McNally, Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, creators of such Broadway classics as Ragtime and Once On This Island, Anastasia: The Musical transports its audience from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing con man and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love and family.
The show is directed by Shannon Yost and Elizabeth Wotring-Nelson with choreographer Desiree Sowards.
