Cusp AI Launches 'AI Materials Foundry' - and $450 Million Series B
Congratulations CuspAI! Chad Edwards and Max Welling announced a $450M Series B today at a $2.6B valuation. They also launched the AI Materials Foundry, a global network of 45+ founding members with NVIDIA providing the compute and Meta's FAIR team contributing frontier atomistic chemistry models.
Incredible progress in a short period of time towards realizing the "search engine for new materials." I'm excited but not surprised by the quick pace. Speed is a big part of their product.
For customer Kemira, Cusp screened a search space of 300 trillion molecular structures and delivered 20 validated candidates in 6 months. This kind of screening had previously taken Kemira years. The AI Materials Foundry now points that speed at 45+ partners working across semiconductors, clean energy and advanced manufacturing.
