CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Sept. 15, 2026) - Charlotte County earned four awards from the City-County Communications & Marketing Association at its conference in Denver last week.
The Public Works Department won a Savvy Award for its Tiny Trucks, BIG Fun outreach event activity featuring small, remote-controlled construction equipment youngsters could operate in a mini "construction zone," playing with homemade "dirt" containing vegetable oil, flour, and cocoa powder.
The Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitors Bureau won a Silver Circle Award for its visitors guide.
The Utilities Department won a Silver Circle Award for its Richie the Roach cartoon book for young people, which teaches the basics of water and wastewater.
The Communications Department won a Silver Circle Award for its Kindnessgram project in which county staff submitted complimentary messages to be delivered to colleagues on World Kindness Day.
