Mayor Yemi Mobolade is inviting Colorado Springs residents interested in civic leadership to apply for the 2027 Mayor's Fellowship, a program designed to give emerging leaders firsthand experience with how their city government operates. Applications are open Oct. 1 through Oct. 31.
The fellowship provides participants opportunities to engage directly with City leadership, learn about local government and take part in productive dialogue around key issues facing Colorado Springs. Topics may include public safety, infrastructure, housing, economic vitality and urban planning.
"The Mayor's Fellowship isn't just about learning how city government works, it's about stepping up to serve," said Mayor Yemi. "We need leaders who love this city, who are willing to listen, and who are ready to roll up their sleeves for the good of our community. This fellowship gives residents a seat at the table and the tools to make Colorado Springs stronger."
The Mayor's Fellowship meets on the third Wednesday of each month from January through October 2027, with a commencement ceremony on Wednesday, November 10.
Applicants will be required to submit a resume or curriculum vitae, respond to the Mayor's Fellowship application questions and provide one letter of recommendation. Applications close at the end of the day on Oct. 31.
