In Shanghai, China, the 8th China International Import Expo and the Hongqiao international Economic Forum kicked off in the presence of Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang. The events were attended by a delegation from the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization headed by Deputy Secretary General Batir Tursunov.
The China International Import Exhibition is one of the key platforms aimed at strengthening economic ties and developing global trade. The participation of leading companies and enterprises from more than 50 countries, including the SCO member states, opens up wide opportunities for the presentation of products, technologies and services on the Chinese market.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, Batir Tursunov held a working meeting with Yang Jin, Deputy Chairman of the People's Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. The parties noted the growing international prestige of the SCO and the high level of involvement of the Chinese side in all areas of the Organization's activities.
They emphasized mutual interest in developing cooperation in the fields of energy, including renewable energy, ecology, agriculture, production and processing of livestock products, etc. They confirmed their readiness to contribute to the implementation of promising joint projects, including on the eve of the SCO's 25th anniversary, which will be celebrated in 2026.
The exhibition will continue until November 10, 2025.
