Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Rain Warning until 23:00 Wednesday, 18 February 2026

During this period, persistent rainfall (along with winds) may lead to difficult conditions, particularly in coastal and low-lying areas.

We are currently experiencing Spring Tides, resulting in higher-than-usual tidal levels. Wave overtopping and spray may occur at high tide and crews are accordingly on close watch. When near the coastline, members of the public are reminded to stay back, stay high and stay dry.

Dublin City Council continues to monitor the situation closely and will implement appropriate responses as conditions develop. The Council maintains supplies of sandbags at strategic locations for deployment in response to identified flooding risks, with priority given to critical infrastructure and locations assessed as being at immediate risk.

For urgent flooding issues during working hours, please contact Dublin City Council Customer Services on 01 222 2222.
For urgent issues outside normal working hours, the DCC Out of Hours Team can be reached on 01 222 3150.
