The University of New Mexico's Information Technologies (UNM IT) department has announced two new resources designed to help students, faculty and staff expand their creative and technology skills.
The new offerings include no-cost access to Gartner's IT research library and a do-it-yourself video production studio in Woodward Hall.
UNM IT collaborated with global IT research and insights leader Gartner to provide no-cost access to Gartner's research library through June 30, 2026. Users can explore case studies, market analysis and technology trends. This resource is available to UNM students, faculty and staff, including the UNM Health Sciences Center (HSC) and branch campuses. Access is not available to UNMH, SRMC and UNMMG employees. Visit Gartner's website for more information.
Academic and content creators can now produce high-quality audio and video projects for class assignments and research presentations. Managed by UNM IT Academic Technologies, the new do-it-yourself studio is available in Woodward Hall, Room 138.
The studio is open to students, faculty and staff, and no prior experience is required. Features include lighting, cameras and microphones, along with teleprompter control and a Windows PC with Open Broadcaster Software for audio and video capture. To use the studio, a training video and quiz must be completed, and users must agree to the terms of use. One- to four-hour sessions may be reserved through the UNM Bookings portal.
It is recommended that users bring a USB drive or use a cloud-based storage system like OneDrive or SharePoint to save their work.
